Iphone 6s won't connect

Iphone 6s won't connect
So, after totaling her 07 E550, I got enough insurance money to downgrade my wife to an '08 E350 4Matic.
Previously I had installed a bluetooth adapter and it worked fine with everyone's Iphone 5.
I pulled the adapter from the 550, put it in the 350 and it still worked fine.
Today, she brought home a new Iphone 6S Plus. It seems to connect for a moment, then the display reads "Tel Off". Time after time. It simply won't connect properly.
I can't find anyone's solution anywhere. Is the 6s just too new and we have to wait for a fix, or am I using the wrong adapter? Is there something I'm missing?

Every time there is an apple update I've had to wait for embrace to update as sometimes my phone wouldn't play music properly. I updated one phone then it won't work right. Since I have a few old iPhones I don't update them all at the same time. I just swap a non updated unit. The point is I think the car may not be updated, if you don't have embrace active to automatically update- mbrace2, talk to dealer service, it may need an update. Or could it be your phone shuts off, time it next time and check that against when the phone locks down, the phone might be to blame. At least try rebooting the phone with the top -bottom button routine
