PROBLEMS HOOKING UP SATELLITE

I have a 2004 E500, I just bought a used sirius satellite module. I installed it in the rear passenger side compartment in the trunk. My car did NOT come with Nav or Satellite from the factory, so this is the first time the car saw a satellite module. When I hit the SAT button, the radio displays "No satellite detected". What am I missing? Does MB still have to do something so car sees radio. Or is the fiber optic cable still not connected somewhere else in the car? Any help.

I believe that a dealer needs to "version code" your car, if you have not previously had satellite.

when you turn the vehicle on, have someone check if the optical is lit up on one of the fibers at the sat unit. if so, then you need coding
