Question Help, please: Just installed aftermarket Head Unit on my '03 C-class

Hi,

I just upgraded my sound system together with an aftermarket Head Unit on my 2003 C180. I installed the Nakamichi MB-100, and the sound is great.

However, I have a problem... The installer said that since I removed the OEM headunit, the Naka had to be re-wired directly with an independent switch straight to the car battery. So each time I want to turn on/off the Naka, I have to manually switch on the power button (added). Otherwise, even if I start the car, I can't turn on the Naka at all.

Anyone knows how I can get around this problem? Thanks...

Leo

The problem stems from the factrory harnes no longer having an accessory power line. The fix is to tie into the cigarette lighter for acc power.
