Adding HK subwoofer to standard COMAND head

Hey guys,

Can anyone give some advise or suggestions on me buying a Harman Kardon subwoofer for my 2006 a209 and connecting it to existing COMAND? Is this possible and would there be an existing connection in the wiring harness or is it a whole heap of problems? Cheers.

I assume your vehicle already has harmon kardon?

If not I would most likely tell you to go with something aftermarket with an amplifier and proper wiring. Never splice into factory wiring unless you absolutely 100000% have to. I personally like JL Audio Subwoofers .. A nice 10" Woofer would do the trick for you i'm sure.

If it is already wired for HK then double check the power going to your new sub before installing. Something as small as using the wrong gauge wiring could cause a fire and really cause some issues.

Second that emotion on the addition of a JL Audio sub.......had a pair in my E class sedan with an Alpine sub amp. They hit hard!! Don't know if you like to rock the planet like me but you can't go wrong with a JL Sub
