2011 C200 Facelift W204
Facelift C200 (w204) Headunit replacement

Been having a "Software Update" error on my headunit, no luck with dealer to fix it seems like my only option is to replace it. I assume the Headunit contains all the electrics for the navigation/hdd/etc so if i replace it alone i should not need to replace the screen (Comand) or controls?

So in sourcing a HU, are all HU's compatible (for that year/model) or do i need a specific one? Eg my c200 has the HK option do i need a HU from a HK optioned c200? can I simply source a HU from ebay that came from a 2011+ (facelift) C200 with HK audio? I assumed the HU did not change from 2011 (facelift models) to 2014 when the w204's were replaced with the w205's?

Once obtained i believe there is a 20 digit number to associate the HU to my car. What is the process to enter it?
