Help - Backup camera on 2013 GLK350
Hello,
I purchased a 2013 GLK 350 which did not come with a factory installed backup camera. Please let me know how can I get one.
I called the MB Dealer in Bellevue and they directed me to a third party shop (Benchmark motoring), which quoted $1800 for the upgrade, which included a kit of $850, and $950 for installation. I called another shop in Seattle (CarToys) and they quoted upwards of $1300 for the job.
Please let me know if it is possible, with reasonable difficulty to do it myself, if I buy a camera and wiring. What kind of unit is needed, the wiring, the connection to the head unit. Also, please let me know how to tell the system to switch to the backup camera, when vehicle is in Reverse. If you happen to know a shop which has done it in Seattle area, please do let me know as well.
