Removing a fiber optic connected CD changer

After successfully replacing the OEM head unit in my wife's 2006 W219, I'd like to remove the MOST fiber optic connected CD changer. I'm using an AVIN MOST Fiber Optic Amp Interface to connect the new Android head unit to the Becker amp.

If I remove the CD changer I have to do something with its fiber connection. My idea is to use a fiber optic loop. It seems to me it should work. I've ordered a loop from China so I've got a couple of weeks before it arrives.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

D

you might have to repin the optical plug with a different connector if I remember right as the changer optical connector is stationary
