C220 CDi - Aircon buttons NOT working - Aircon fan on
Hello,
I have a C220 CDi 2012 model. I didn't drive it for a while so the battery went flat. Got the battery charged. Car started without any problem. Now a fan sound in the engine is continuously on a few seconds after i start the car and doesn't switch off. The aircon buttons don't work at all. Being in malawi, highly skilled experts not available. After checking on the XENTRY Vehicle Diagnosis machine, the following fault message appears: " The MB object number for hardware cannot be read out of the 'air conditioning' control unit. The control unit software can only be determined using a valid MB object number for hardware."
One mechanic suggests that because there is power in the fuse box located in the bonnette, there is a possibilty the wires have been eaten by rats, hence he needs to open the aircon control unit inside the vehicle to check. I refused.
please could anyone provide some more input/help.
