Can you take out the CD magazine with no power?

I need to take the magazine out of my CD changer but I don't have power to it. Is there a way to manually remove the magazine?

no power as in battery disconnected or no as in just no key in the ignition and turned on?

I've taken out the magazine when no key was turned or anything. just pop the trunk or glove compartment and take 'er out.
