Hey everyone,
First time posting here so I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I have searched many threads and forums on both this site and many other sites in regards to the issue I am having.
Car in question: 2008 C300 4matic w/ navigation
Issue: COMAND screen will not open.
I have tried the well known fuse reset for fuses #11 and 26 under the hood. I have also checked every fuse and relay in both the trunk and engine compartments. I have also pulled the main battery power for the car and let it sit over night. Nothing I have done has fixed the issue of my COMAND screen not opening.
My next question; what would be the most logical next step. I am fully capable of working on the car myself. I have done many repairs and full builds on my previous cars. So taking it to the dealer is not a option in my mind. I was thinking about pulling the display itself to check to see it is receiving proper power and no shorts. I was also curious to see if there is a possibility that the actual motor that opens and closes the screen has gone bad.
I have tried searching for a part number or an aftermarket motor (if that's even a thing). Has anyone had this issue persist even after the attempted fuse resets and power resets. It's been about 7 days now with no opening from the screen.
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Justin
