Option 3: FM modulator. Search for "scosche FMT4" on eBay.
It's the best modulator that I've used for excellent bass/mid/treble, priced less than $10, runs on 2 AAA batteries that isolate rpm noise from similar devices that plug into cigarette lighter socket, small enough to be in the ashtray. You may hear some low noise with volume way up and when engine is not running and when music is paused, not when driving. Its wire is a bit too short; with a 3.5mm female coupler and and extension cord, you'll get your Aux wire. For fun, you may also buy a bluetooth receiver plugged to it to make the whole setup wireless. Beware that most bluetooth receivers' bass response is just bad.
I have all direct Aux, bluetooth, Scosche FM modulator. It's just very convenient with the FM modulator, it also gives more "volume" to the music.
