Coupe door lock malfunctioning
I believe my problem is electronic in nature so I am posting in this forum. If I am mistaken, pls do not report me to the authorities but DO answer the question.
A brief description: my '05 CLK has recently developed a noise associated with locking the doors, either by the fob or using the auto locking feature. The best way I can describe the sound is that it has a plastic gear sound inaddition to the distinctive sound of the lock locking. Also this morning when I locked the car using the key fob , I observed the lock stem (Located on the top of the door) moving up and down in quick succession before settling to a down or locked position.
Any guidance? Suggestions on what is causing this problem? Repair advice?
