The newer C-Class models I've received as loaners have a volume indicator on the COMAND screen. It's not persistent; it's only displayed while you're actually adjusting the volume. I found it annoying and I'm glad my 2016 does not have this feature, because the computer ignores any controller knob input for as long as the volume indicator is displayed on the screen. For example, if you adjust the volume and then attempt to turn the COMAND knob to skip to the next track, it ignores you until the requisite display time for the indicator has elapsed.
