CLS Radiator fan starts after engine has stopped.

Hi Everyone, Just registered my husband, as he's desperate for an answer. The 2005 CLS 320cdi radiator fan starts on high, after the engine has stopped. I've checked different threads, and it seems that the fan control module is to blame. After speaking to a technician though, he reckons it's the SAM UNIT, as other faults are shown on the dash menu. I read that there can be water underneath the sam unit, which can be dried out with a hairdryer. Also that the switch to the fan control module can stick, but we don't know where this is on the car. Also been told that the fan control module is part of the whole radiator fan, and not under the n/s/f wheel arch. Any help would be much appreciated, as he's had nothing but trouble with this car since he bought it!

Tell hubby, to quit farting around, spend some money and get the correct fault defined with a diagnostic scan---else what is it, the fan control unit, the SAM or an open relay--who knows, that's why they make diagnostic systems to diagnose and find problems!
