Possible Upgrades G500 (Sunman?)
I've been reading this forum for a while now. It really is the best in this category. I use about 3 different sites depending if it is G related, vintage MBs, and now this site just for this forum.
I have a 2002 G500. I've read about many of the upgrades - of which Sunman seems to have them all. What is possible with the G series? I've talked with SteveNL about the TV tuner, but I'm afraid I won't be able to find a dealer to finish the activation. I am also not interested in the Parktronic - very easy to park the G with the verticle surfaces! I do like the LED climate control and many of the other Sunman mods look interesting.
Anybody know what works or is available in the G?

The Tuner should be no problem as long as you can find a place to activate the Comand. Ihave heard some people doing this in the NY area. As for teh Climate control, this is a area of question. many of the C230 and c240 people have upgraded to climate but it's a bit of a guessing game. There are 2 versions of the climate control for the C class and you have to try both versions to make sure and install the one that works fine. You can also add heated steering wheel on your model if it doesn't have it. There is also a Phone option with Voice activation feature.

TV tuner is no problem (and activating the US COMAND so the button works is possible). The G-class only has Park Assist as OEM option, so Parktronic probably wouldn't be done anyhow. The LED climate control is doable as well, however if your dealer can't set up the TV button, he may have trouble making the temperature adjustments as well.
Nokia phone kit and VCS also work.

I'm waiting for the Mikbox to debut and have most of the system plus the VCM installed. I couldn't believe all the stuff added to the C class. The ortho seat may be nice, heated steering wheel doesn't interest me. I'll wait until Steve pipes in on the climate control and other options.
