09 CL550 Pro audio install
This lifelong audiophile finally has the means to get a high end pro audio installation in my car. I spend 2 often 3 hours a day in that car commuting but never had a system I really wanted to listen to. After much frustration with a Kenwood Focal JBL MS8 system in my 14 Accord I decided I wanted an upgrade in the car as a platform for an excellent aftermarket audio system install. I aimed for a very quiet car and after driving an Acura TSX, Lexus GS350 and ES350 I fell hard for this 2009 CL550 with 70k miles. Never thought I could afford a car of this caliber! The heavy, solid, luxurious power is beyond anything I've ever owned or rode in. And...it's quiet even at 60, 70 and 80 mph. Through the magic of depreciation I managed to afford this beauty as the 3rd owner.

After talking with several area car audio shops I went with Sound In Motion in Boston. They not only had the technical side down completely from car evaluation to design to installation and especially tuning BUT they had not 1 but 2 cars when I visited including a MB and the owners Porsche which both sounded fabulous. Major thanks to Jim and Derek for the many phone calls and emails answering all my questions. I went with:
- 2 way active Dynaudio Esotec System 242 in the stock front of the door locations powered by
- Sinfoni Tempo Presto 4 channel amp
- Illusion Audio L10 10" sub in custom stealth enclosure in the passenger kick area powered by
- Sinfoni Tempo Allegro 2 channel bridged
- Mosconi Aerospace 8-12 dsp taking inputs from:
- the stock H/K amp leaving the stock CD changer and radio as sources
- and coaxial digital in from a DAP (currently FiiO x5 iii)
