What CD changer in 124?
I know a fiber optic 6 disc will not work in a 124, so what were the changers used before that classified as?
The old ones from late 80's - late 90's.
These haven't been made for years but for a time Becker had reconditioned units available. The last I knew they cost something over $500 from Becker USA.
The cartridges are no longer available from Sony but are being sold on E-Bay.
I have a reconditioned unit that I bought from Becker for $350 plus another $85 for a custom made mounting bracket. These changers had a bad reputation for jamming but I think that the reconditioned units with Sony-brand cassettes work fine. Mine has worked flawlessly for several years. I have a 1991 300E and the CD is integrated into the sound system and has it's own Mercedes manual.
The unit mounts in the curb-side well in the trunk and comes with cables that connect to the audio components in the curb side of the trunk.
