Audio line out from COMAND (with HK) question

I read a lot here about audio upgrades and found (in some posts) that it is possible to get clear (unprocessed) 4-channel line level out from COMAND head unit, if one programmed for "no amp" in engineering menu. If it's really possible, what wires do carry those signals?
In particular for my 2014, E550 with Harman Kardon sound system.

There is no line level output but high power speaker outputs that get activated when the head unit is configured for no external amplifier.

OK, good to know. But how can I access those outputs?

I would to know more what this means. How does it "get configured" and why would not be configured?
