HOW TO: Steering Tilt not working - Cable Driven
So I thought I would create this as a separate thread as it took me a while to find the solution. (Buried in another thread about the rubber version)
My W207 would not tilt. the motor would try, clunk and then stop. Nothing moved up and down. After looking I read about loosening the cable to allow it to free. this also seems to be hit and miss on working.
The final solution that really was the easiest and people did mention it worked was as follows:
Hit the steering wheel down and at the point you hit it press down on the stalk
Hit up on the steering Wheel and at the point of impact press up on the stalk
If it still is stuck, Repeat.
Mine took 5-6 hits to free and has been working for 2 weeks with no issue.
Took mins to do.
Hopefully this post will assist users finding the fix fast.
