audio system problem
After about 4 years of no trouble... My amp stops working at intervals, but after I turn off my system and wait a couple of minutes, the amp will turn back on again. I have a stock setup with an aftermarket amp and subs.... My amp just turns off sporadically and stays off. I touched the amp and it wasn't hot to the touch at all. What could be the problem?

Could be something as simple as a power connection which has vibrated loose and oxidized in spots. Or, a bad solder joint. Intermittents are notoriously difficult to trouble-shoot but the first step is to check all connections, reseating them, and lightly twisting any banana plugs to remove any oxidation.
