I just got my Illuminated door sills...They look great but there is no balast or relay...Does that seem right?

no way. There are parts missing. There is NO relay but there should be a ballast for them or they will not work.

Re: Door Sills

If you get an OEM illuminated sill, then you probably need a ballast (depend on the type of illuminate, but I can't see why you need a ballast for this). I think at most, you need voltage regulator.

If you get an aftermarket door sill (illuminated), you don't need anything else. The aftermarket sills use LED, so it works just like regular bulbs.

Just connect it to the battery see if it work.

Did you get OEM sills? I'm curious as to the cost. My dealer told me over $3000 installed for my 2002 CLK 430.

I got aftermarket sills, can't tell the difference betwen aftermarket and OEM. Afterall, Mercedes subcontract this type of accessories to outside vendors. Look and feel is indential to OEM, the biggest difference is cost

Cost me $150. Probably an hour or two (by me) to install.
