X164 GL No Audio
About 2 weeks ago the volume would come and go as if when you have bad fm transmission. Then last week the speakers stopped working altogether. The screen turns on and everything comes up on the screen with the exception of the CD changer - it has disappeared. Also, I tried to load/eject cds from the cd changer but its not working. Please help

Is anything working in the audio system? Bluetooth, USB, AM radio, FM radio? Do all controls work on the center stack and on the steering wheel? Are your vehicle and auxiliary batteries fresh or recently replaced? Need more information. What checks have you done?

Battery was put in about 5 months ago brand new at dealer. I checked the fuses and were all ok.
All buttons work except no volume and the 6 cd changer has disappeared.
One thing I notice is that when I eject the nav dvd and the in dash cd theyre extremely hot can barely touch them. Also the back of the LCD is extremely hot - can’t keep the hand in longer than a sec.

What about the auxiliary battery? Your vehicle has two batteries, one primary/starting battery, and a smaller auxiliary battery. Have you replaced the auxiliary battery? A 2008 vehicle needs batteries replaced.
Does AM radio work properly with volume control?
Does FM radio work properly with volume control?
Does satellite radio work properly with volume control?
Do navigation spoken (audible) directions work properly with volume control?
Do you have any modifications on the vehicle? Anything at all?
Are you the first owner of the vehicle? If not, what is the vehicle history? How many miles are on the vehicle?
Need more diagnosis, or just give it to the dealer the ask them to figure it out if you don't have time/desire for it.

I tried the fuses. removed the command system fuse - no effect.
Then, I removed the amp-fuse (No. 35 in the trunk) and put it back in - and that fixed it.
So this issue clearly seems related to the AMP.

@Dinismb Do you have by any chance an update what the issue was?
I just started to have exactly the same symptoms (no audio + cd changer disappeared, everything else seems to work).

If you have Xentry, if you run a diagnose on the MOST fiberoptic loop you can see the broken link. So if the amp is fried then you will have a broken loop and it should pop up.
Also, look at this thread where for some reason command stopped working. I re-started the MOST fiberoptic module and everything came back on.
