Harmon Kardon unit in E350 Sport

Curious....does the unit come with a single disc CD player in the 2016 model? Given the option to stream via Bluetooth or Ipod devices was wondering if this was the case

I believe that is the case - they only have a single disk capacity. My 2015 E400 has only the single disk player.

What MB intends that we do is to use the single disk player to "copy" (aka rip) the CD to .mp3 files to be stored on the system's built-in hard drive. I completely skipped this step by copying my .mp3 files onto a flash drive and playing them from that. I do find, however, that playing the source CD on the single player results in superior frequency response and dynamic range to the .mp3 files from either the flash drive or the built-in "Music Register" (hard disk).

Thanks Steve. Not sure I'll be ripping CD's on to the on board Hard Drive . Too time consuming. Add to that the sound quality you describe and I'm ok with sticking to single play CD. Besides my main music source comes via Bluetooth Streaming and iTouch device connection to the vehicle.
