Hey guys i am new to this forums. i have a 01 Cl 600 and i was wondering if it was possible to change the display to one of the newer ones like on the 04 or even 03 models.

or if there is a like where i could get some info or even some pricing.

Just the display? I don't think so. But I think you could change the whole Command unit. Not 100 % sure thought.

Yes, it is possible... I think you need to search in the forum (probably W220).

Steve was not able to change the older S class NAV systems to the newer 16:9 nav system. CANBUS protocol has changed and the steering wheel buttons would not work at all. I believe it is the same for the CL

Not to mention you would need a host of parts. New wood trim, switch blocks which use different harnesses, etc.

Actually... those statements are somewhat contradictory.

He IS able to change the COMAND; the steering wheel buttons will not work. However, I think he may have found a fix for that, which currently would require testing... that's why we've been looking for someone who would be willing to "guinea pig" for us.

OK, you'll have to buy all the parts (I can send you a list)... then drive over to our shop, or provide transportation. We'll give you free labor so that we can document the process and test the CANBUS convertor.
