Front SAM or Rear SAM? That is the question.

I'm wondering if anyone is aware if the Audio 20/NTG4 system is connected to the Front SAM or Rear SAM? I believe I have a heat-related issue causing my audio to cut out (all other systems including NAV works fine). My car is 2011 C300 Sport with the large screen/NAV, but non-HK.

Thanks!

Not sure either SAM is really involved with the audio system. Sounds like your audio gateway/amplifier is having thermal issues.

That's part of what I'm struggling with - How is this damn thing set up???
I know:
1) I have the COMAND APS system with Navigation and the larger of the two available monitors for 2011. (NTG4)
====> my assumption is that I have the Audio 20 (?) system driving the speakers, as I do NOT have the Harmon Kardon system. Is it even possible to have both, or does COMAND NTG4 serve as its own amp?
2) The issue only occurs when heat is involved (either running for a while or a hot day)
====> Heat is apparently a concern with certain relays associated with the Front and Rear SAM's.

I have a background as a hobby car audio guy, so my traditional understanding is SOURCE==>AMP==>CROSSOVER==>SPEAKER. I understand there is a fiber optic system in the middle of all this with Mercedes, but how is that laid out?

I'm trying to figure out what to replace to end this audio cut-out issue. The COMAND head unit? Is there an amp somewhere else in the car? Is there a separate amp for each channel of the audio system? The internet is surprisingly void of speaker/wiring schematics for this system.
