SL55 AMG
Question re phone in SL55
I have a 2002 SL55 AMG...
There are phone buttons on the steering wheel but nothing in the middle compartment and there is no microphone or SOS buttons behind the rear view mirror. I am guessing the car is pre-wired but needs some parts to be able to take (preferably Nokia) phone? What do I need tp hook up a phone- can it be a standard GSM phone to work with the COMAND system? I live in France.
Thanks for your help

Don't know about the Euro version of the SL, but am fairly certain that the microphone is already installed as well.
Since you live in France, just go to your MB dealer and have them install the UHI phone kit in your car and buy the cradle that fits these Nokias:
6210, 6220, 6230, 6310, 6310i, 6100, 6610, 7250
Cradles should be about 140 Euros, the rest depends on the installation costs.

no need for installation cost, phone cradle fits straight in, take 2 seconds!

If the car doesn't have a microphone, it is probably not prewired for the phone. I don't know for sure though as my experience on R230 is limited to US-spec cars which are all prewired.
I agree... SL55 is a hot car!

Totally overlookd the 2002 MY. Therefore no UHI...
Still I was told that all R230's were pre-wired for phones. Of course, unlike the old SL's you can't really see the mic.
