w212 E device not compatible issue
as stated my 2012 E is giving me a "device not compatible" error when connecting the ipod via the media interface cable.. do i need a different part number cable or connector for the ipod to interface cable?

IIRC, there are two similar media interface cables from that era, although I think that if you have the wrong one, you will simply get nothing when you plug in the iPod. Do you have the most recent firmware on your iPod? I have the same iPod (with the most up to date firmware) and I am using it successfully with both my 2014 G550 and my 2018 GLE350.

yes iPod up to date. Doing some research and I found a pdf from Mercedes saying there’s a media interface and a media interface “plus “
