Bluetooth Internet tethering - time and date error
Hey - newbie here and looking for help. I’m getting an error on my 2017 C238 with Audio 20 when trying to tether my iPhone 11 Pro Max’s internet connection (personal hotspot - which is both supported by MB here in Ireland and by my mobile provider) over Bluetooth or usb. The error says a connection can’t be established and to check the car’s time and date settings. I have:
Has anyone come across this before or have any suggestions as to a fix? Would really appreciate some help, or even just some sympathy!
- changed the time and date settings
- set them to manual
- tried to connect with a different iPhone 11 and galaxy fold (with same results)
- reset the system
- Tried disconnecting Bluetooth and used usb only
- changed the date and time formats
- smacked my head against the steering wheel (

I seem to remember something like this happening when trying to tether my old BlackBerry via Bluetooth/USB. Can't remember exactly what I did to fix it, but try putting both the phone and the car into manual time mode.
