w212 steering wheel info. swapping electronics...
my car- 12' E550. Has the 3 spoke leather & wood w/paddles, w/lane keep assist w/distronic plus
looking to swap to the 16'+ 3 spoke.
i know the steering wheel column will need to match my options. came across one thread that had a few swapping the lane keep assist motor and associated electronics over to the new wheel. but i dont think they were doing the 16+ wheel. appears they did a pre 12' wheel to a 12-14' wheel.
so im my case would the 16 wheel be compatible with swapping my 12' lane assist motor?
i did find the part numbers are different between 12' and 16' for the lane assist motors. so my other thought is getting the 16' lane assist motor for the 16' wheel. but another question arises....would the 16' lane assist motor still work with my car. yes the column would be swapped and have the correct options. so im assuming yes it would work.
side question if im not able to successfully swap to the 16' wheel would swapping to the 12' AMG shift paddles be a simple plug and play?
