CarPlay on early W213
I've started looking at early W213 cars. Most likely 2016 or possibly 2017.
I understand that there are three options:
1. Audio20 USB multimedia system with 8.4-inch display, coupled with Garmin MAP PILOT navigation system
2. COMAND Online system¹ with Media Interface and touchpad (option 531)
3. 12.3-inch cockpit display
Which of these will give me either (a) CarPlay from the factory or (b) the ability to update to CarPlay easily?
I can see lots of different threads, but there seem to be a number of changes to the systems. In parallel it looks like the options to upgrade/enable CarPlay have changed, so quite a few of the older threads are not relevant.
Is there an easy summary?
Also, it looks like the easy way to differentiate between Audio 20 and COMAND is by the width of the screen. Is that always true or was there a widescreen version of Audio 20?
