Upgrading W210 system?

I want to add subwoofers to the stock bose system in my 96 E320.

I have a couple of questions.

Does the stock head unit have auxilary low level outputs for an additional amp?

If not I would need to splice into the low level feeds that go from the head unit to the stock amp. But I can't find a wiring diagram that tells me what wires to tap into.

I want to build a box and use the two holes next to the stock speakers to vent it into the passenger compartment.

Thanks

The absolute easiest way (not the only way though) to add your sub to the existing Bose system is to tap into the free air sub woofers that are mounted in the rear shelf of your car. If you open the trunk, get in and lie on your back, you'll see the two subs. You can solder leads right of the pos and neg terminals on each speaker. Then you can take those high level signals and either go straight into a sub amp which nowadays most can either take high or low level signals (if the amp you want to use can't take a high level signal, you can get a good converter to low level for about $50). When I had a 96 W210, I used the JL MonoBlock amp which was perfect for this setup--it was able to take a high level signal from those speakers and it had current sensing so it turned itself and on and off automatically when the stereo was on and off so I didn't have to run a remote lead to it.

The MB head unit does not have auxillary leads on it.
