Comand NTG2.5 DVD Changer issues
I bought a 2008 W211 with a Comand APS NTG2.5 with the built in 6 DVD changer. All other functions of the unit seem to be Ok but unfortunately the DVD changer does not work properly. It makes noises as if it is cycling but nothing happens. If I want to load a disk I select a disk and press OK expecting the message "please load disk" but this does not happen. After some time the disk selection screen will reappear.
What I have done so far:
- Opened up the unit and found 5 cd's in the changer. None of these would be played and none of them could be ejected the normal way.
- I took the dvd changer apart en took all disks out. As I was not sure what the starting position was of the various actions I experimented with no luck and probably broke a plastic part that moves the laser head in and out.
- I bought a new DVD unit of eBay, put it in the Comand and emptied the error log. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem. The symptoms are as mentioned above. I can not load disks.
Is there anyone who has had this problem and has a possible solution maybe? Thank you for your help!
Kind regards,
Frank
