W212 E250 Stereo problem
Hello everyone,
This is regarding a 2010 E-class 250 CGI W212 with COMAND 20 and Navigation system.
I've had this problem with my COMAND system for a while and I have no idea where to start, I'll list the specifics below:
When it first started, the display of the COMAND unit turned off while driving to work, then turned on again about 5 minutes later.
This happened a couple of days in a row, after that it turned off for 1-2 weeks before coming on again randomly when driving - since then it hasn't worked at all for like 6 months.
Since then, I have to press the "ON" button in order to start the stereo and the stereo does not turn on or off with ignition, the display never works.
Radio is playing, cluster of buttons relating to the COMAND system, like TEL/DISC/RADIO/etc works but the backlight of these buttons is off.
Steering wheel buttons for phone/volume up/down does not work, all other steering wheel buttons do work. If I click to go to Tel Nav or Radio on the steering wheel, these will only show "------" on the display by the steering wheel.
The COMAND unit turns itself off after exactly 30 minutes always, even while driving.
So to summarize:
Radio works, but as display doesn't work I cannot choose channels as I cannot see anything.
Bluetooth Phone system works, but I can't answer/hang up via the steering wheel.
Volume wheel works.
Steering wheel buttons relating to the COMAND system does not work.
Buttons under the COMAND display screen (TEL/RADIO/DISC etc) works, but there is no backlight of these buttons as it used to be...
COMAND display is always off, does not work.
Stereo does not turn on/off with ignition.
Anyone heard about this issue before and have any idea how to solve it?
