Upgrading ML's infotainment, lighting and sound
To start with, I would be replacing the oem infotainment since it's very outdated. I will add a 9 or 10" android screen (had good experience with Navifly and Avin in the past). Not sure it its better to go with the smaller screen that fits between the AC vents or get the bigger one which comes aftermarket vents below the screen.
Second would be some interior ambient light. The car did not come with the ambient package so from what I've read, it requires to replace the trim which is pretty costly. But since I will have the android screen, maybe there's some easier way of doing it? What if I'd add led strips or optic fiber tubes and controll it with the android screen app? Anyone tried it?
Last thing for now is to get some more sound of the oem soundsystem. It did not come with the premium speakers unfortunately and it's not that good compared to my Burmester soundsystem. What if I'd just add a small subwoofer and maybe an amp? Which budget friendly option would you recommend?
Thank you!
They have kits that you can install and they also have the android screens. I haven't tried LED strips for lighting, but I think it may be hard trying to hide them.
