I reviewed the manual for the 2020 S560 and searched this forum. I did see that the USB port will work with a maximum size of 2 TB. (I see lots of fake USB keys on Amazon.) But I can't find the specs for what format the files must be in? I was thinking to use ALAC, Apple Lossless on a 256MB USB key or larger when prices come down. But what bitrate etc? I also have an old 60GB iPod Classic/Video which I could use too.

Of course it will work with *.mp3 format, but if you're an audiophile you can also record in higher definition *.wav and it will play fine. I have about 10,500 tracks recorded in *.wav format occupying about 500 GB, so 2 TB will hold quite a bit. Density of *.mp3 is about 10x *.wav, so if you are OK with *.mp3 quality, you can record ~13,000 tracks on a 64GB stick.
