CD Changer Problem w/retrofitted Euro Command

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the boards. I am having problems with my CD changer on my recently installed Euro Command in my 2000 CLK 430. Steve from MBenzNL installed it for me a couple of weeks ago. I tried asking him about the problem, but he hasn't responded because he is probably some place where he can't check his e-mail. He does excellent work by the way, I love the navigation system.

Anyways, my problem is in regards to the sound quality with CD's playing from the changer. It sounds as if it is lacking mid-bass and slightly hissy. Increasing the Bass level just kind of 'bottoms out' the woofers. However, my stereo works perfectly fine with the FM, AM, and if I listen to a CD in the in-dash CD player.

Does anyone have a similar problem or know how to fix this? I stopped listening to my CD changer because of this. BTW, the CD changer sound was perfectly fine before the retrofit and the CD changer is also brand new (recently replaced under warranty from the dealer). Any information would greatly be appreciated!!

Because the connection between the CD changer and the COMAND is digital, it is unlikely that the cables or anything are the cause. There's a slim chance that it is a problem with the COMAND, and the easiest way to put your mind to rest about it is to have Steve swap the COMAND on his next trip (in about 3-4 weeks). Then you can compare the sound of two different units in the same setting to ensure whether yours actually has a problem.
