Issues with COMAND NTG5*2 in a W205
I hope that there is a COMAND/electronics specialist on the road here who can help me =)
We have a C250 CDI BlueTec Avantgarde with a COMAND Online NTG5*2 (if I'm right). Since 2 years we have problems with just that COMAND. It started (of course 2 days before the vacation) with failing traffic sign recognition, Navi hung at " being started", error messages (when reading out) with "GPS antenna defective" etc.
On vacation, a (non-contract) Mercedes repair shop has re-flashed the software - since then the navigation, sign recognition, etc. went back to normal operation as before, only one problem (which already existed before the flashing) has remained: when playing MP3, for example, you have every 30-60sec a short dropout ... this goes on for about 10-15min, then the short dropouts stop. Unfortunately, the volume can then no longer be regulated and a change from MP3 <> radio is not possible, for example. The navigation system works "normally". From time to time, the fan speed or temperature can no longer be controlled, too. If you restart the head unit with pressing the eject button for 10s once again everything works for 10-15min. According to an OBD adapter, however, the control unit registers the signals of the volume knob (as live data showed signals received). The speedometer display says "not available" if you try to use steering-wheel controls or switch to COMAND-related views. It seems like some software component of the HU hangs up after x restart attempts and stops responding in the end. Unfortunately, that's where my debugging stops. As an IT person I have technical understanding, but in the COMAND area I don't have the appropriate means for debugging.
Since we currently want to sell the car, this error is now becoming a problem. Do you have any ideas about this behavior?
