Which battery charger/maintainer does MB advise for my 2011 E550 AWD? I have a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger/maintainer and I would like to know if this charger is acceptable by MBUSA for use on my vehicle’s battery indoors during the winter months?
Also is it better to disconnect the main battery from the car or maintain it hooked up to avoid computer issues?
Thank you.

I don't know if Mercedes actually recommends a non-Mercedes branded charger, but I have used CTEK MUS 4.3 and Multi US 3300 for several years with no issues. Leave the battery connected to the car. In my 2004 SL500, I used to connect it to the trunk battery and in the C350, I will connect it to the starter battery in the engine bay. I only connect it to the SL400 through the engine bay when I am running diagnostics or have a need to keep the voltage at a certain level with the engine off. Otherwise, I drive the car year-round unless we are buried under snow. I think the MXS 5.0 will work fine for you.
CTEK is often rebranded as by whatever manufacturer uses them. Below is a Mercedes-branded trickle charger.
