Hello. i am a such a noob...
i got 90RMS W 3 way speakers and i need to buy AMP for that.
But the amp i am thinking to buy has 75RMS W X 4.
so..my question is. with that set -up is it going to work fine? what the hell is RMS.
or do i need 100RMS W x 4 Amp for that speakers.
Since my speakers are expansive. i want to use 100% of its ability.
please advice me.

RMS is the average of the amplifiers output. I was in the audio business for years. The wattage rating for speekers is complete BS. The reality is that at low volumes, you are not putting out anywhere near the amplifiers max power. Another thing to consider is that most amplifier manufacturer rate there power output with different specifications. I high quality amp will rate there output at greater frequencies range. For example, 20hz to 20 khz would be as wide as necessary. A cheap amp would rate from 200hz to 5khz. Another way to beat the system by the manufacturer is to rate the amp at a higher voltage than could be expected by a typical car electrical system (<13.5 volts). I would buy as much power as you can afford from a respectable manufacturer. Zapco makes a tremedous product. I use Soundstream in my car, but have been told the new stuff is not what it used to be. Just remember, watts do not burn out speakers, distortion does.
