My entire command unit has died, no display, camera, audio nor NAV. I found replacement units, if I replace the hed unit does the new unit have to be programed by the dealer?

Yeah, it could be a hassle depending on the options in your car. Sometimes you might luck out and get a unit from another car if it has the same features, but you'll have to program it. You don't necessarily have to go to the dealer; you can use Google search and see if somebody in your area works on Mercedes. They would have the Mercedes computers and could do the programming for a fraction of the cost of parts at the dealer. Because some dealers may not even agree to program a used unit.
