New To This site....And Have a Question....
Well me and my girl just purchased a 2003 C230 today and I already want to upgrade the sound system. I have a lot of Alpine Products that I want to add!
Heres a quick list:
1. IVA-D300 or IVA-D900 both 7" Touchscreens w/ DVD/CD/XM (I have them both so dont know which one to use)
2. PXA-H700 5.1 Processor
3. AlpineXM Tuner
4. 2 MRV-F540 4 channel amps
5. 2 MRD-M1000 amps
6. 3 Sets of Type-X speakers (front, Rear, and Center)
7. 2 Type-X 12" subs
(These are the basics I got other stuff but its getting long already)
I used to work for Alpine and got this stuff very cheap.
Now My question is:
I know that the Benz has a Fiber Optic system, will I have any problems by changing the factory system out completly? Will I have problems with other components in the vehicle? I've been searching but cant find direct answers to my questions. Can anyone help?

1) Factory system is turned on by fiber optics -> no turn on lead -> must run new one.
2) If BOSE then wires to speakers from amp but fiber optics from HU to amp.
3) Loss of steering wheel controls and MFD display.

You'll notice from my list that Im not using anything factory so I guess I dont have to worry much.
I'll lose the steering wheel controls and the MFD display? Well I guess I can live with that.
