Question : Amp install on a non BOSE Audio 10 System
Hi everyone i was searching in the forums and on the net for pics of an install where someone pointed out wires on a 2003 c230k. I am trying to find a remote wire but have no idea where to look for it. I wonder if there is a pre installed wire located in the trunk where the BOSE amp should be. I really want to do the install myself and i dont want to take apart the radio head unit to splice wires. I have already installed a power wire from the battery to the trunk. I have a speaker -> RCA converter also & would like to know if the best place to install it is in the trunk/(rear seat driver's side) where i see some wires are located. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I see a couple post mentioning this but i have seen a post where someone's car almost caught fire. Could that be bad grounding or the fuse box itself? I am so on the fence about sticking a wire into fuse 7 slot.

The Bose amp does not use a remote wire for activation, so you won't find one there. And even if it did have a remote wire, you still wouldn't find it because you don't have Bose, so the wiring harness is completely different.
You might want to try the antenna power wire, as the antenna gets activated for more things than the radio (and so should the amplifier).
