Dash Cam power from ODB?
2019 S450 US model
Has anyone used an ODB connected cable to power a Dash Cam?
Any issues or problems,
Any confirmed successes?

I understand that the OBD supplies only constant 12V, no switched power. You need switched (Accessory) also, or the dashcam will stay on all the time.

Finding switched power is made complicated by the designers who decided that it's really cool to leave the car's accessories active after the driver turns the car off. I don't get it.
But I wired my dashcam into the 12V accessory socket that's in the center console in front of the rear seat. It's fairly easy to wedge the cable in under the trim pieces and back to the rear console area. I used a compact 12V to USB adapter, and it's completely out of the way and mostly hidden. The only other option was to run the cable to the relay module under the rear seat, and this was twice the effort.
