Euro COMAND Question

Does the Navi CD continue to spin even if it's not being used? If so, should I take it out when I'm not using the Navi feature to cut down on wear and tear on the drive mechanism? I have a Euro COMAND that was installed by Steve in my '00 CLK.

...I presume that you are refering to the sound of the FAN that can be heard up to 2 minutes after the unit has been switched of and as soon as the door gets opened?

I didn't know that it has a fan. It's possible that's what I'm hearing. But the question remains, does the CD continue spinning when the Navi is not being used. Thanks.

Hey Steve, thanks for the info. That'll save me the trouble of having to remove the disc everytime the navi is not in use.

Due to many emails about this in the past, I tend to point it out right after the installs...but forget about it every once (well...twice) in a while...sorry

Let me reply that one for my little brother: yep. He's back home again; safe and sound, and very tired!
