2002 SLK 320 Audio Q
I'm getting ready to purchase an SLK 320, and I wondered if I have my information straight in terms of the CD Changer.
Are the fiber optics only between the stock head unit and the MB CD changer?
Can the head unit be changed without messing up the Tele-aid system?
My options as I see it:
A) Do not have the MB CD changer installed, and replace the MB head unit with a AM/FM/CD/MP3 type unit. ( I only really care about single CD anyway)
B) Have the MB CD changer included/installed but could cost up to $995US.
I thought I read that the Optics in the MB system are only between the Head unit and the Changer. All other components (speakers/amps) are connected via wire. Is this true? If so, then the head unit could be replaced.
I figure for $900+ I could put in put in a good quality CD head unit and have $$ leftover.
Thanks,
Shaummy
