I have a Nokia 6310i and when I put it into the holder the comand system tell´s me "telefon nicht gesteckt" but it fit´s into the holder and the phone say charging , does anyone have a solution for this?

The holder is original MB with number A203 820 06 51 01 M31 , maybe this holder are for another Nokia?

I take it is a car new to you that this has not worked before?

There are several issues when planning to use a Nokia 6310i.

1) The firmware on the phone must be at a certain version. I am not sure what that version is, but it can be found out in Mercedes documentation (your dealership should know as well). You can check the phone version by entering *#0000# on the phone keys.

2) The phone electronics in your car must support 6310i. There were some earlier versions that supported only up to 6310, and before that, 6210. If the phone system in your car was included when it was built, then it probably only supports 6210 as that was what was available around 2000.

3) If the phone fits in the holder physically, then that holder will work as it is basically just a "cable" between the controller electronics and the phone.

Scorchie,

In that case then, if I decide to order your UHI kit for the 6310i (which is 50% cheaper than what you guys have been quoting for the 6230 kit) do I have to be specific about my particular 6310i model.

I am considering this option (just considering, nothing final) since I do have a 6310i that is sitting around and I could "permanently" assign this to the car. How do I find out what the version code is for my phone and PM me for the final price for a 6310i and 6230 UHI kits.

Thanks

Paxfo, we offer two kits for the 6310i... the first is a plain 6310i kit as mentioned here with firmware requirements. It is half the price of the UHI kit. The UHI kit for 6310i also has some firmware requirements, and it is the same price as all UHI kits (such as 6230).

The notes on firmware version used to be everywhere but I can't seem to find them around here now. You may want to do a search on the forum while I look around out in the shop.

Not sure why, but all the Nokias seem to have FW version requirements... the Sony and Siemens kits don't seem to care. The Motorolas also need upgrading, sometimes to the point where you have to send it in to a special center for upgrade (as with the V60i).

I don't do PM... can you ask Wanda for the final prices?
