End of lease inspection and return to Mercedes-Benz

My lease is up and I am returning a C230 to Mercedes-Benz financial. They are having a company called inspection solutions come over my house and inspect the car 30 days before the turn in date. Can you guys please provide any information as to what I should expect and what will they inspect? Is the transaction over after the car is handed over to MB? Would they send any other bills later? Are there any fees to return the lease? I truly appreciate all the help I have received from this site; it has been an asset to us.
Thank you very much

This should primarily be a physical inspection, inside and out. They usually do not drive the vehicle. It would be a good idea to be present when the inspection is done in case any questions arise. Try to get the inspector to leave you with a copy of the inspection and see if he/she can give you a clue as to any excess wear and tear.

They should give you an option prior to the turn in of fixing any of the noted problems.

Any other turn in fees will be stated on your original lease agreement.

There is a $350 fee when you return the car. That is what I paid when I returned my 2001 ML320. There is no charge for the inspection and it was very easy. The inspector looks for the usual wear and tear, and of course the tire wear. You will get a copy of the report the same day. The $350 is billed to you within a month but it is waived if you lease or purchase another Mercedes. On more thing, a Mercedes rep may call you to offer you a continuation of the lease(at a much lower payment) or to purchase the car.
