could someone please explain to me why, if the average Residual values are higher for the BMW than for MB - why are BMW leases so much more expensive?

Hard to provide a specific answer to such a general question when trying to compare two different makes/models, but basically

There are three things that directly affect your lease payment.

1) Final Cap Cost (Purchase Price)
2) Money Factor (Finance Rate)
3) Residual Value (End of Lease Value)

Do you happen to have the latest rates available for an M5 through BMW (and what leasecompare might be able to offer as well?)

Thanks!
