Has anyone ever extended their MB lease? Do you know if you must renegotiate the entire deal or if they just can extend the existing contract by x months.

I would think its rather easy, just call MB financial's lease end advisor and ask for extension. I believe you can do it up to 12 months. I had a 3 month extended with Audi while waiting for my E class to come in, basically carry make the same payment and the same mileage allowance per month.
