How many of us are there?
So I was thinking. How many members are involved in aviation? Pilots? Flight Attendants? Dispatchers? ATC? FAA?
I was surprised to see an Aviation section here... I am a pilot/sales guy for Monarch Air a Cessna dealer in Dallas.... 5200 hours +/- Flying around in a Cessna Corvallis TT right now (company plane) Who else is here? http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/s.../411139003.jpg |
Still have a hard time calling that a Cessna... :p:
ATC for going on 20 years -1/4 Air Force -1/4 contract towers rest FAA TRACON |
Just noticed this so I'll chime in...
Have been flying as a civilian pilot since 2001, and am in the middle of Navy flight school currently, in advanced jet training flying the Boeing/BAE T-45C Goshawk. I'm at around 500 hrs total time currently... |
Looking to get my Civilian license in the future.

In the process of getting my PPL and then ATP. :)

Hello,
I did 12 years of Air Force active duty, then 4 years Air National Guard. After USAF pilot training I flew MC-130's for AF Special Operations. Two assignments in this aircraft: Eglin AFB in Florida and Kadena AB in Okinawa Japan (very fun assignment). I then was lucky enough to be selected for the one time USAF fighter crossflow program. I selected the F-16C. I learned how to fly this mad machine at Luke AFB in Pheonix, then went to Aviano AB in Italy for 3+ years. I saw lots of combat in Serbia and Iraq. I then left active duty and flew the F-16 for the ANG. My flying life is much less exciting now, I gave up the fighter to be a parent and now I sit in the left seat of the A320 for JetBlue Airways. I really miss military flying, but the airline life is great for family time. My 3 boys all play baseball and I have plenty of time off to help coach. The wife is much happier now that I'm not getting shot at anymore. The A320 is also a pretty sweet jet to fly. I just hit 10,000 hours!! |
I know a few heads that are in IFS right now in P-cola.
|
I'll start with, whiz05403 im so jealous! Thats awsome :y
Im a pilot! I have 2hrs  lol. But seriously... I would like to get my licence one day just for kicks. The 2 times I did fly were AWSOME! :D |
I build and fly experimentals. Certified aircraft just isn't for me....except for a few models out there. The plane that gets my blood flowing is the F24 Fairchild with the 165 horse Warner. I am in the planning phase right now of an all metal F24 replica that'll be powered by probably an R670 from a tank. I also like the Navion and a few others.

Flew F-106's in the USAF for 4 years in the late 70's. My eyesight started to go so I lost flight status finished my time as a maintenance officer.
Should mention I was stationed at Griffiss AFB in Rome NY. |
Wouldn't exactly call myself a pilot but did get to the stage where I went solo on one of these when I was in the British equivalent of ROTC:

I fly a 1983 Cessna 303 Crusader. I'm on my 5th plane over the past 25 years.
I wanted to be a professional pilot growing up but had Red/Green Color blindness issue so the military and airlines were out of the question! I fly today with a SEL/MEL rating with Instrument privileges with ~1800 Hours TT. I'm thinking of getting my ATP this summer just for fun! Cheers! |
Some nice additions to the pilot thread! To the F-106 driver, that is an awesome jet, I love the way it just pours fuel into the afterburner until it explodes to light, that must have been a kick!
Looks like my ANG unit may be getting the F-35, I'm kicking myself for getting out!!!! |
currently in flight training and ground school. working on my private pilot in a piper archer II, planning on going to the airlines. so cool to have an aviation sub forum! two things I love in life, my benz and flying hahaha

Private/Instrument here (ASEL)
Also flew right seat in the EA-6B Prowler (just shy of 2000 hours) with combat time in Desert Storm and Northern Watch. Did a tour in the UC-12 (Beech King Air Super 200). Also did a tour as an instructor in the F/A-18 (EW instructor) and we had T-34Cs for range safety and bomb spotting/scoring. Stick time in the Hornet, Eagle, Viper, F-5, A-7 (TA-7), A-4, T-2, T-34C, C-12 on the military side. Civilian, the standard mix of Cessnas and Pipers as well as come Mooneys. |
This is a nice collage of aviation history.
USMC Naval Aviator. Flew CH46s in Nam. Flown a couple of dozen stiff and rotary wing since. The last two I owned were a H-500E and an Aerostar 700. Loved them both. Probably going to get another helo one of these day when I can justify (and afford) it. Gotta find a mission...gotta find a mission... |

What is that? A Grumman Yankee or Cheetah painted in WW II colors, OR an ex millitary trainer that you bought on a Goverment auction...?

hello eveybody
i'm new in this forums just got my SLK55 and i'm a Boeing 777 pilot |
Just noticed this thread, so I figured I'd stick my big nose in here and bore you to death! :p: I have...well without giving an actual total, I'm guessing close to 18,000 hours on Microsoft Flight Sim 9. I usually fly the B747-400 (not the crappy one Microsoft made though, I bought mine from PMDG) and several other short distance commuter planes (E190, CRJ's, 737's, 727's). My father bought me a full cockpit 747-400 simulator from Flight Deck Solutions (up in Canada), and it is well on it's way to completion! I'll post up some pics! If anybody's in the Colorado area, and has even limited aviation experience, I could really use a co-pilot for this beast! Pix will be up soon! I've also got almost 40 hours actual flight time in a C172 at both Long Beach Airport and Fort Collins Loveland Airport, and I'm planning on having my license by the end of the summer (after which I'm going to pursue my IFR, multi-eng, instructor, and ATP licenses....eventually.)
